The Antoine Vivenel Museum reopens
The Antoine Vivenel Museum reopened to the public on Saturday May 13 at 8pm, on the occasion of the European Museum Night.
This was an opportunity to discover the renovation of the reception area(the entrance is now via the Songeons park) and the creation of a multimedia space on the history of Compiègne (Site d'immersion historique or SIH).
This space offers visitors a narrative on the history of Compiègne and its region, through an introductory film and virtual visits to major sites via interactive stations. A self-guided experience to be enjoyed in the museum before exploring the region, thanks to the "carnet d'exploration" (exploration booklet) included with the admission ticket.
Prices :
SIH only: €4 / €3 concessions (free for children under 6)
SIH Pass musées : 7€ / 5€ réduit (free for children under 6)

■ Des Vies et des Œuvres - The Museum in the City
This exhibition took place from October 21 to December 31, 2022
at the Centre Antoine Vivenel, 17 rue James de Rothschild 60200 Compiègne
In search of resonances between past and present, between societies of yesteryear and the contemporary world, the exhibition "Des vies et des œuvres. Le musée dans la ville" invites visitors to rediscover remarkable pieces from the collections of the Musée Antoine Vivenel, reinterpreted by photographer Marc Mounier-Kuhn and learners from the Centre Ressource Lecture.
At the same time, the exhibition goes beyond the museum enclosure to forge new links between museums and the city's neighborhoods: monumental photographic collages placed on the facades of buildings in the Royallieu and Pompidou neighborhoods encourage us to reflect on the meaning and values of these works of art that pop up in our daily lives.
