Afternoon at Montataire Castle
Built in the mid-11th century by Hugues de Clermont, Château de Montataire was modified over the centuries, and added a chapel, a weapons room and stables.
Famous guests such as Odet de Coligny, Henri IV and the Marquise de Sévigné have stayed in this residence, now owned by François-Xavier Bernet and his daughter.
The château has been open to the public since 2012 for tours and receptions.
The visit ended with a snack at the château.

A day in Paris: Victor Hugo and Giampietro Campana, an outstanding writer and collector
Morning:
Maison de Victor Hugo, place des Vosges (Paris 4e) guided tour of the "Hugo à la une" exhibition.
Victor Hugo's fame and political commitment made him a favorite subject for the caricaturists of his day.
The exhibition is a journey through his work, in three parts:
"La forte tête" (1830-1848),
"La renommée de l'absent" (1852-1870),
"Hugophobia and Hugolatry" (1870-1885).
Afternoon:
Musée du Louvre guided tour of the exhibition "Un rêve d'italie": the Campana collection.
Marquis Campana, an Italian aristocrat, assembled the most important private collection of the 19th century, rich in antiques, paintings, sculptures and Renaissance objects. Thanks to an exceptional collaboration between the Musée du Louvre and the Hermitage Museum, the exhibition gives a complete picture of this collection for the first time in 160 years.
Thursday, October 25:
La Marche du Valois" tour
A historical tour of the Valois county: three castles and a priory
The priory of Bray-sur-l'Aunette and its recently restored rural monastic chapel.
Château de Raray and the elegance of French architecture; its stone "chasses" were immortalized by Jean Cocteau in "Beauty and the Beast".
Lunch at Château de Raray
The "troubadour" château of Mont-l'Evêque, set between an English park and the Nonette river, illustrates eight centuries of history and architecture.
Château de Versigny, a perfect example of 19th-century architecture in the Valois region, is famous for its French and English gardens.
All four tours were accompanied and commented by archaeologists specializing in these sites.

A day at Auvers-sur-Oise:

The morning ended at the Auberge Ravoux, where Vincent had his room. Preserved intact, the inn allows us to evoke the conditions of artist's life at the time.
Afternoon:
Guided tour of Charles Daubigny's studio house: still inhabited by the artist's descendants, this house was decorated on 200 m2 of its interior walls by Daubigny, his children, Corot and Daumier, between 1862 and 1882.
We rounded off the day with a visit to Docteur Gachet's house, a meeting place for the greatest talents of the day.
